USA Pickleball, the national governing body for the sport, has just released a new list of Golden Ticket tournaments for the 2024 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships. With this latest addition, there are now 11 qualifying events for the upcoming premier tournament in pickleball.
This good news came shortly after the APP Tour announced three more Golden Ticket events for the much-awaited 2024 USAP National Championships - the 2024 APP Cincinnati Open, the APP New York City Open, and the APP Newport Beach Open. We can recall that USA Pickleball and the APP Tour jointly announced the first two Golden Tickets last December - the 2024 APP Sacramento Open and APP Miami Open.
Since its inception in 2009, the USA Pickleball National Championships have allowed professional and amateur pickleball players to shine. Last year, there were 12 Golden Ticket events at the Pickleball Nationals, but now, USA Pickleball has reduced it to 11. Nonetheless, gold medal winners of these tournaments will automatically qualify for the prestigious main event.
“As we kick off 2024 and continue to enhance the player experience at our events, the USA Pickleball team is thrilled to share the exclusive set of 11 tournaments that will serve as our community’s opportunities to punch their ticket to Pickleball Nationals this year,” Mike Nealy, USA Pickleball Chief Executive Officer said in the press release.
“It is our highest priority to provide the best tournament experience possible for our amateur players attending these tournaments around the country. I’d like to thank our partners at APP and UTR Sports for working with us so diligently to host a slate of phenomenally organized tournaments and offer our players such quality events in which they can participate.” He added.
Below are the dates and venues for the 2024 Golden Ticket tournaments:
- March 6-10: APP Sacramento Open, Johnson Ranch Pickleball, 2501 Eureka Rd Roseville, CA
- March 20-24: APP Miami Open, Miami Beach Convention Center, 1701 Meridian Ave #403 Miami Beach, FL
- April 3-7 – USA Pickleball Golden Ticket at Mesa, Legacy Sports Park, 6321 S Ellsworth Rd Mesa, AZ
- April 15-21: USA Pickleball Golden Ticket driven by Fortune Tires, Sunset Park, 2601 Sunset Rd, Las Vegas, NV
- May 1-5: USA Pickleball Golden Ticket, Oasis Pickleball Club, 5757 SH-205 Rockwall, TX
- May 7-12: APP Cincinnati Open, Sawyer Point Pickleball Center, 815 E Pete Rose Way Cincinnati, OH
- May 22-26: APP New York City Open, USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, New York City, NY
- May 29-June 2: UTR Sports Macon Open, Pickleball Amateur Series, Macon Mall, 3661 Eisenhower Pkwy Macon, GA
- June 5-9: USA Pickleball Golden Ticket, Virginia Beach, VA (Venue details TBA)
- July 3-7: APP Newport Beach Open, Tennis and Pickleball Club at Newport Beach. 11 Clubhouse Drive Newport Beach, CA
- July 10-14: UTR Sports Denver Open, Apex Pickleball Courts, 11706 W 82nd Ave, Arvada, CO
Registration for the first four tournaments is now open and will end on the following dates:
- 2024 APP Sacramento Open: Feb 25, 2024, 11:55 PM
- 2024 APP Miami Open: Mar 10, 2024, 11:55 PM
- 2024 USA Pickleball Golden Ticket at Mesa: Mar 06, 2024, 8:00 AM
- 2024 USA Pickleball Golden Ticket at Las Vegas: Mar 15, 2024 7:00 PM
