In a significant development for pickleball enthusiasts, the Association of Pickleball Players (APP), in collaboration with the national governing body USA Pickleball (USAP), has announced two 'Golden Ticket' events for players eyeing the 2024 Biofreeze USA Pickleball National Championships.
These exciting opportunities are the 2024 APP Tour events in Sacramento and Miami, held on March 6-10, 2024, and March 20-24, 2024, respectively. As auto-qualifier tournaments, gold medal winners of these events will be awarded an exclusive "Golden Ticket" to the prestigious 2024 USAP National Championships.
"We're delighted that the 2024 APP Sacramento Open and APP Miami Open will be 'Golden Ticket' events, as these auto-qualifier opportunities have been some of our most popular tournaments." APP Founder Ken Herrmann said in a press release.
"I am pleased to know that the 2024 USAP National Championships will be run by the national governing body and provide talented players the national platform they deserve. We look forward to the extra level of excitement in Sacramento and Miami, especially now that the opportunity for national recognition is on the line." He added.
"The APP is rightly renowned as providing pickleball players of all levels with an exemplary experience at their tournaments, thus fully justifying designating a number of their events as Golden Tickets," USA Pickleball CEO Mike Nealy commented.
"We're looking forward to seeing the APP return to Sacramento; and we're excited to see the Miami event, as the first APP Tour Major of the year, taking place in a truly iconic city." The former CEO of Fiesta Bowl added.
The five-day 2024 APP Sacramento Open will occur at the Johnson Ranch Pickleball in Roseville, California. This much-awaited event will be played in 24 dedicated pickleball courts, continuing its tradition for the third consecutive year. Players and fans can anticipate an exciting display of skill and competition in this thriving pickleball community.
